Features & Description

For the detailed planning of room situations and the clear presentation of the planning, room planning enables the structural measurement to be transferred quickly and reliably to the planning system. If it is necessary to adapt the room planning, e.g. after a detailed measurement, numerous modification functions can be called up.

If an architect's drawing or a digital measurement is available, these can be used (depending on the data format) to create the room.

Installation objects such as connections for water, gas and electricity are also provided by iX CAD and can be planned with dimensional accuracy.

With the help of design assistants (so-called "designers"), all types of furniture can be designed easily with iX CAD. The spectrum ranges from parameterizable and variably controllable furniture, e.g. for series production, to contract furniture or counters, to completely individually designed furniture made of individual components.

Long parts such as worktops, baseboards, light moldings and cornices can be generated on the basis of the room situation and the scheduled articles and executed for the order in the factory with a perfect fit.

The visualization level of plans or constructions can be adjusted as desired. Depending on the situation, machining, connectors, interior elements and much more can be shown or hidden as desired.

Based on the planning, a quotation is created. The item prices can be calculated in different ways or queried via interfaces, e.g. in the ERP or in a price database. If necessary, prices can be changed and items added in the order manager. Discounts can be granted based on stored rules or by a manual entry.

A wide range of fitting and modification functions are available for changing articles and components. The modification functions can be recorded if required and saved with the article. When the article is reused, the recorded modifications are then applied again.

iX CAD has a module for automated drawing output. At the push of a button, it can be used to create dimensioned and labeled output as well as renderings of all items and components included in the order. The generated outputs are then available as individual files (bitmaps, PDF) or summarized as a multi-page PDF file.

Drawing outputs are equally important for customer acceptance, manufacturing and assembly. iX CAD offers options for the manual or assistant-supported generation of drawing outputs including coloring, dimensioning and labeling. This includes floor plans, elevations, worktop and installation plans, as well as sections and individual part drawings. In the event of design changes, generated drawings are updated accordingly.

imos contains an extensive collection of reports or bills of materials that are specially tailored to the respective processes. In addition to the output of quotations, lists can be output for ordering, work preparation, manufacturing or production.

With the help of process data transfer, BOM information are transfered to ERP/PPS systems. The interface is highly flexible and can be adapted and configured according to requirements.

With VR-Link, the planning is trensfered to external VR and rendering systems and presented impressively to customers.

Flaps, doors and drawers can be generically animated to represent component kinematics.

In addition to the most common barcode types, the use of QR codes is also supported. This allows component information to be mapped onto labels with more data content.

Connection situations are automatically analyzed, suitable connection elements are selected and fittings are positioned according to parametric rules. If user insert a connection, iX CAD recognizes all dependencies and inherits necessary machining such as drilling or grooving to neighboring components. Drawings, parts lists, order lists and CNC programs are updated automatically.

  • The Designer article is ideal for variable-size constructions. This module covers the requirements in cabinet and object construction when similar furniture with different dimensions or front divisions is required. The Article Designer accesses parametric components.
  • In the Object Designer, components are generated via 2D top-view and side-view drawings. The 2D geometry data can be created using simple functions such as polyline. Finally, imos automatically generates the complete counter element with all details in 3D from the various 2D views. By changing the 2D drawing elements, the 3D model can be adjusted with a mouse click.
  • In the Part Designer, individual parts are freely assembled in 3D on the screen. The procedure is similar to the final assembly of a piece of furniture. Each element is assigned snap and identification points. This allows components, edges, connectors, machining etc. to be adapted interactively on the screen. Profiles, materials and fittings are not assigned until the design has been finalized.
  • Cutting lists: Sorting by designation and material, same raw dimensions, same CNC machining program, etc.
  • Production lists: Output of materials, surfaces and edges with all dimensions as well as the edge pattern for all components of an order
  • Purchased parts: Output of all purchased parts used in the order as well as calculation of prices
  • Profiles and edges: Output of all edges and profiles with dimensions and summary of identical elements
  • Coverings and surfaces: Output of all veneers and foils with dimensions and summary of equal elements
  • Labels: Output including graphics as well as the CNC program number belonging to the part.
  • Structure BOM: Creation of a structured list with assignment of individual components to article and item groups
  • Automatically generated graphics facilitate the readability of the parts lists
  • Support of common barcodes and QR codes
  • iX CAD has article libraries, i.e. a central administration of all library elements such as standard and special articles etc.
